The Octopus's Garden Cafe & Bistro is widely praised for its fresh, locally sourced ingredients and beautifully presented dishes, ranging from seafood specialties to inventive homemade pasta. Patrons frequently highlight the flavorful mains such as lamb, duck, and fish, alongside standout items like tomato soup and lobster rolls. The charming ambiance, particularly the inviting porch and patio areas, enhances the dining experience. While service is generally described as friendly and attentive, some visitors note occasional staffing challenges during busy periods. Breakfast offerings receive mixed feedback, with some wishing for more variety in side greens. Overall, the bistro is regarded as a must-visit dining spot in Alma, appreciated for quality cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere.

I was not able to take photos of the food as I was really famished. I don’t really like tomato soup but this restaurant serves the best tomato soup I’ve ever had in my life! It’s really one of a kind and taste really fresh. We had lunch so I also had their southern chicken salad that was so good and the portion was a really good size. My husband did enjoy his lobster roll!! We can’t wait to be back and order the fresh pasta. Love love the food but the service can be slow… Been visiting this since the first time we ate here. The food really is superb! Their fresh pasta is even better than the famous Italian restaurant in Saint John! I can only say good things about the food!!! But yes service can be slow and the servers are not that friendly. Either way, I’d be back just cause of the food!!! You don’t really find good food here in NB

I had a great dinner there and I came back for breakfast. The dinner was amazing. Both the mussels and duck leg were flavourful. I like they use fresh local ingredients. The eggs benny breakfast was ok. I wish they have more greens than a lonely piece of pea shoot. The potatoes are flavourful and not greasy at all. Service at dinner was good. My server didn’t necessarily check on me but she definitely was paying attention as my plates were cleared shortly after I finished each dish. I enjoyed eating my dinner in peace. The service at breakfast was a little slow as they were busy but I still got my food in a reasonable amount of time. The only downside is I got attacked by many mosquitoes when I was there the first night even though I was sitting inside! Bring bug spray and you’ll have an enjoyable time.

Excellent food, charming porch atmosphere, and good service! Unfortunately the day we were there they were busy & needed more help! Once we received our meal from the kitchen staff we were hooked. Beautifully plated, green beans cooked to perfection and the fish was outstanding!

Wow, compliments to the cook, wonderful food, the lamb, the duck and everything on the plate was perfect. They also make the pasta themselves, so yummy. We will come again for sure

Great spot to have dinner in Alma! We loved the homemade dishes and presentation. The chef even accommodated a special request. Would highly recommend sitting out on the patio for a sunset dinner if you can. We really enjoyed our chicken Parmesean and scallop appetizer.

Amazing food! The place looks simple and the balcony is absolutely beautiful in summer. Dishes in the menu are different from other restaurants in Alma. We had lobster pasta and Cod as main course, and mussels as appetizer. Main dishes were like fine dining. Cod cod perfectly and mashed potato underneath it the best mashed potato (It is not usually my fav option). Service was a bit a slow as it was busy on Friday night.

Just outside Fundy National Park, in Alma is a surprisingly fantastic restaurant.A true Gem, a rare find, can’t stop raving about it!They made the most common dish like a tomato soup into something spectacular. The perfect blend and mix of herbs and spices, the right amount of cream and voila, a hearty soulful bowl of goodness. They cater to Vegans and other dietary restrictions too.The Asian noodle bowl was lip smacking dish .We also tried their lemon mint ice tea and the vegan burrito bowl. Both equally delicious. The depth in flavours and the intricate balance in taste shows the chef is a true master in his/ her craft. They know food and flavours very well, it’s truly a delight to eat here.A great place to stop by if I’m the Fundy National park area.

Didn’t know what to expect! What a delightful surprise. The menu is great and it delivers. The seafood is outstanding. Seared cod heaven, red thai seafood curry and the scallops pasta, as good as it gets.
